WELLIS Air Disinfection Purifier WELLIS is an air disinfection purifier that works by releasing hydroxyl radicals (OH), which react in oxidative reactions with airborne pathogens and toxic substances, causing cell wall disruption and consequently cell lysis, which eventually lead to cell death. Hydroxyls are capable of eliminating viruses, bacteria, and mold in the air and on surfaces. Hydroxyl radicals are also capable of initiating oxidation reactions with various toxic substances and subsequently transforming the molecular structure of toxic substances to particles that are normally present in nature and safe to both humans and animals. WELLIS utilizes the technology developed for preventing and combating biological weapons by the European army, and it is widely used in European hospitals. Researches and experiments carried out to study the role of hydroxyls reveal that they are prevalent naturally in the air and are capable of killing pathogens and eliminating toxic substances.
